One of my high school friends went to MIT and is now a Harvard grad student. She had a great experience at MIT and is enjoying furthering her education now. One thing I didn't know is that they don't keep track of your grades for your first two years at MIT so you get a chance to settle in and get accustomed to the new environment, teachers, classes, workload, etc. without it affecting your GPA. I think all schools implement this!

That sounds great, but won't this affect your overall degree? How do they account for this? I would like to know more. I have always wondered how this school was and hwo people progress after attending.
