If anyone is considering taking out a loan to pay for college, I'd highly recommend looking into whether or not you qualify for the Stafford College Loan. My husband used this to pay for a good majority of his schooling and one of my friends was able to pay for ALL of his schooling with this. Ultimately, it depends on how much your schooling will cost.

I currently am using stafford loans to pay for a good portion of my degree, i have used grants and scholorships as well, I think if you can qualify for any money you do not have to pay back thats great but a stafford loan is a great addition to the other prorams.

Yes, the Stafford loans are great. Unfortunately, they cap out each term for me so I'm still having to pay some out of pocket. However, any of these deferred loans at low interest rates really help out. You just have to fill out the financial paperwork once and then you can renew it each year.

I have to agree, if there is any way that you can get free funds then go for it. But if not then a stafford loan is probably you best bet. This is what I use and it has been working out well for me. No problems to date.
