This thread discusses the Content article: FastWeb Free Scholarship Search

I cannot remember if it was this scholarship search I joined or another one with a similar name. I just know that after a while I got sick of getting inundated with emails that didn't provide me with any scholarships I could use.

This may be a helpful resource for a young student, just coming out of high school; as I have seen tons of scholarships advertised for such students, but not for a woman with children and trying to find the right scholarship to meet her needs. There is a ton of work involved in looking for scholarships and I just didn't find it very helpful for me. Hopefully someone else will have better luck.

I keep getting many emails from them but did not feel they were very helpful I have found the best grants by resarching them my self and through the student financial aid department at the school.

Thanks Classy for that information. I honestly never utilized the school for scholarship information because I figured they would have limited information. I am sure there are online resources that are more affective, but I haven't found them yet.

I agree about Fastweb. Even as a student coming straight out of high school they weren't that helpful. I was a history major at a public university, and there close to nothing that they had to offer, despite the huge amount of scholarships they offer. The e-mail thing was also a huge issue.

Google can be just as helpful of a resource as Fastweb for finding scholarships, and without the inbox clutter.

I am glad I am not the only one who has that issue with the email. Even though you request the information, you get so many emails from them it takes forever to get through them all. Out of thousands I went through I only came up with one possible and then when I read further into that scholarship is was a no go. I think the schools are the best resources; just my opinion.

I signed up for the FastWeb site also and actually applied to a number of the scholarships and grants. I never heard back on any of them and decided it was just a waste of time. They also list jobs in the area but at least for me those were pretty worthless also.
