This thread discusses the Content article: FinancialAid.com Student Loan Consolidation

I have not actually used this .com as a source for my student loans. But it does look like a good resource. I may have to check this out to see about consolidating my husband and my student loans together.

Anyone else have any input on this web site?

I keep getting this stuff in the mail and checked with sallie mae on it and they told me its a great way to reduce your payment if you are done with school but if you are still attending, like myself you should wait to you are finished.

Glad to know that classy. I hadn't really thought about the fact I need to wait. I haven't finished, but I also am not attending at the moment. My husband is attending still, so I guess I just need to wait.

If you're still attending, you can keep your loans in deferrment. I plan to do that until I'm done and then figure it out. When I stopped attending last time and started paying my loans, I didn't have enough to consolidate. Regretably this time, I'll have plenty to consider doing this. I have a friend who did a consolidation through SallieMae that worked out well for her. All mine are Stafford loans so I'm not sure this applies.

I know that when you have several students loans for one person that you can consolidate them but I do not think that you can combine loans from two different people into one loan. You may want to look further into it before you get your hopes up too much.
