Nettts sucks!!! point blank. They are only concerned in getting new students, & competing with Parker. I'm sure the government reimburses them for a lot more than they give you in loans/ grants. They promise job placement assistance, and in the 4 years since I graduated they refused to help with job placement. So if you have a record, or a less than stellar resume, they will not work with you, or try even to set you up with companies that are willing to take you in. Like I said I was promised a job before I signed on the dotted line. After graduation, the job placement coordinator never ever returned any of my calls or email. It's ironic that he (Mr. Damiso Husband)has since been fired (I guess multiple complaints about nettts not helping with job placement). Oh yeah, the minute you graduate, they want their money, and pressure you until you come up with a payment plan, yet you pressure them for help with a job, and they always have to get back to you on the topic. Most instructors and higher ups drive nice cars, and seem to be doing pretty good for themselves, yet they dont do a damn thing to help those who really need the help. The ONLY time teachers go out on a limb for a student is if it's a male teacher with a well endowed, cute female student. Students literally teach themselves how to drive the big rigs, and I've witnessed several accidents during my time there including a student having his legs crushed by another student during a manouver. Look at how many times students fail the driving test. Why such a high failure rate if the schooling is so good, and hands on? This applies to the NETTTS in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. My experience there has been nothing short of awful. Students fighting, drinking beer & smoking marijuana on break, young punks disturbing class with immature comments and noises. Teachers being disrespected & threatened by young wannabe thug students. Contaminated water supply (always smelled like rotten eggs). People having their cars broken into. I can go on and on. School there honestly felt like middle school. Weekly fights, no security, weapons, drugs, threats, you name it. Unfortunately I'm a graduate from there, but I could've done it all myself. Especially the written tests. The only difficult part would be getting a loaner truck for the road test that will pass inspection. Even the state trooper who tested me said that the truck was in bad shape. If you think I'm lying or exaggerating just drive by the R.I. NETTTS yard, you'll see students standing and walking outside of the safety zones, teachers nowhere near the trucks for supervision, students leaving thru the hole in the fence, when they should be practicing, the bald tires on the trucks, the oil leaks, the bad language, etc... Netts in R.I. is more of a place for ex-cons, and bar room brawlers. Not the place for an educated person who is looking for a change of career with the proper teachers and support to help you along the way. I wish there would be a class action law suit filed against that place for scamming students outta their money. It's been that bad of an experience for me. If trucking is your cup of tea, try Parker or another reputed school. I'm not trying to promote another school, I just want to point out that NETTS sucks!!! Spend your money else where, it will pay off so much more in the long run. Oh yeah, respect to one teacher there who actually cared (Mr.D) Otherwise F&%# NETTTS!
